These quick Japanese journal entries are meant for both leisure and learning!

Naturally, since idioms and nuances in tone are lost in AI translations, we as Japanese teachers cannot vouch for their accuracy. To get the sense of the piece without understanding Japanese, we suggest using DeepL翻訳ツール, which, once again, dismisses nuance and may interpret the passage incorrectly.

興子の紀行文#〇〇〇🎍｜幸先良い出発

謹賀新年!

良き新春を迎えられたことと、謹んでお喜び申し上げます。

新年は再出発だと思われているかもしれませんが、個人的には、むしろ里程標に近いだと思います。リセットすれば、過去のことを消し去ってしまいます。しかし、里程標だと思われていたら、ゼロから始めずに旅は続けます。前の局面を消さず、新局面に入ったことを認めます。

大抵は大晦日に眠れない夜で、元朝に初日の出を見ます。そして、ちゃんと寝られる２日の夜にあの初夢はその年の吉凶を占うと言われます。

吉夢のことに当たっては、伝統的な表現に「一富士、二鷹、三茄子」と言われます。私の初夢の内容は日常的だと思いました。夢の中で、私は試着しました。伝統的な吉夢ではなくても、調べてみると、吉兆だそうです。

未来を予測することができないかもしれませんが、今年も最善を尽くすことを予測することができるはずです。

何か新年の抱負がありませんが、今年も色々な計画はあります。そして、本当に将来を楽しみにしています。

今年も惑星地球上の旅は素敵なものになりますように!
